As a Minneapolis wedding photographer, I’ve photographed weddings everywhere from historic churches and city landmarks to vineyards, farms, and modern event spaces. While every venue has something to offer, there are a handful that immediately stand out.
If you’re searching for unique wedding venues Minneapolis offers, this list is a great place to start. Each of these venues brings something to the table, whether that’s incredible architecture, a one-of-a-kind setting, or a space that simply doesn’t feel like every other wedding venue in the Twin Cities.
Here are ten unique wedding venues in Minneapolis couples should have on their radar.
If you’ve never stepped inside Minneapolis City Hall, it’s hard to appreciate just how impressive the building really is. The stained glass windows, carved Italian marble, and grand staircases create a setting that feels completely different from most wedding venues in the Twin Cities.
If you are researching unique wedding venues Minneapolis offers, City Hall stands apart. It doesn’t feel like a traditional wedding venue at all. The historic architecture creates photographs that are uniquely Minneapolis.
City Hall offers versatility. You can plan anything from a small, intimate ceremony to a larger wedding reception without leaving downtown Minneapolis. The building is within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and nightlife, which is ideal for any traveling guests.
The venue accommodates events with banquet seating for up to 300 guests and includes a bridal changing room, in-house catering options, accessibility accommodations. It also has nearby parking ramps, and direct access to the Light Rail.

As the first basilica established in the United States, The Basilica of Saint Mary is one of the most recognizable wedding ceremony locations in Minnesota.
The high ceilings, stained glass windows, and historic architecture create a setting that’s hard to replicate anywhere else in the Twin Cities.
For couples planning a traditional church wedding, The Basilica offers a ceremony experience that feels grand and rooted in history. It’s one of Minneapolis’ most recognizable landmarks and remains a sought-after ceremony location for couples who want their wedding day to take place in a space with architectural significance.
The Basilica welcomes both members and non-members, and only one partner is required to be Catholic to be married there. Couples complete a marriage preparation program as part of the process. This program includes workshops, meetings, and guidance designed to help prepare them for marriage beyond the wedding day itself.

Urban Daisy offers something a little different from the traditional ballroom experience. The industrial-inspired space feels modern, flexible, and easy to personalize, making it a great fit for couples who want a contemporary venue in the city.
The 12,000-square-foot space features high ceilings, large windows, polished concrete floors. The flexible event areas enable you to host your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location.
What stands out most about Urban Daisy are the design elements. From the glass garage doors and mezzanine lounge to the signature daisy photo wall, there is plenty of built-in character before any wedding decor is added.
The venue can accommodate up to 270 guests and includes two private getting-ready suites. It also offers a built-in bar, premium seating options, and on-site management throughout the event.
Urban Daisy is also dog-friendly, making it a fun option for couples hoping to include their pup in the celebration.

The St. Paul College Club feels more like a private estate than a traditional event venue. The Georgian Revival mansion combines classic architecture with beautifully maintained gardens.
What makes this unique wedding venue in Minneapolis stand out is the variety of spaces available throughout the property. Couples can exchange vows in the outdoor garden or host a ceremony inside the Great Hall.
The mansion itself dates back to the mid-1800s and has been preserved, giving the opportunity to celebrate in one of St. Paul’s most historic settings.
The venue can accommodate more than 200 guests for ceremonies and up to 220 guests for indoor receptions. This makes it one of the few historic mansion venues in the Twin Cities that can comfortably host larger wedding celebrations. It also offers an in-house culinary team, custom menu options, dedicated event coordination, and access to indoor and outdoor event spaces.
Another detail I love about this venue is its connection to the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The organization has owned the mansion since 1949. A portion of event proceeds supports its mission of advancing educational opportunities for women.

The Hutton House has become one of the most recognizable wedding venues in the Twin Cities. Known for its clean, modern aesthetic, what sets it apart is how the entire property is designed around the wedding day experience.
The venue blends modern farmhouse and minimalist design. This creates a bright, neutral backdrop that works beautifully with almost any wedding style or color palette. Large windows, high ceilings, and walls of sliding glass doors fill the space with natural light.
Couples can get ready in the private upstairs suites before hosting an on-site ceremony, cocktail hour in the courtyard, and dinner and dancing in the Lakeside Room. The venue accommodates up to 250 guests and offers 12,500 square feet of indoor event space.
One of my favorite features is the indoor-outdoor flow throughout the property. The Fireside Room, with its floor-to-ceiling white brick fireplace, opens into spaces that feel connected. And the private courtyard creates a beautiful setting for ceremonies and cocktail hours.

Camrose Hill is one of the most unique wedding venues in Minneapolis. In part, because of the fact that it wasn’t originally created as a wedding venue at all.
The property began as an 1880s dairy farm that was gradually transformed into a flower farm and garden estate by owner and floral designer, Cindie Sinclair. Over time, the former farm fields became lush gardens, old barns were repurposed, and the entire property evolved into the one-of-a-kind setting it is today.
If you are considering this venue, know that you can choose from three distinct ceremony locations throughout the property.
The outdoor Chapel offers an elegant garden setting. The Fairy Glen provides a more secluded and natural space beneath mature trees. And the Barn serves as a beautiful indoor option with exposed wood beams and nine crystal chandeliers.
One of the things I love most about Camrose Hill is that it doesn’t fit neatly into a single category. It’s not a ballroom venue, a traditional barn venue, or a formal estate. It feels more like stepping into a private garden retreat that’s been thoughtfully cultivated over decades.

Ashery Lane Farm is a more refined take on the farm wedding venue. Built specifically as an event venue, every detail is focused on creating a cohesive wedding experience.
What sets Ashery Lane Farm apart from many Minnesota barn venues is its connection to the land. Situated on a 20-acre orchard and vineyard, the property is surrounded by rows of apple trees that change with the seasons, creating a varied background throughout the year. From spring blossoms to autumn harvest colors, the landscape becomes part of the wedding experience.
The farm is home to more than 12,000 apple trees, including several Minnesota-grown varieties like Honeycrisp and SweeTango. The orchard setting gives the venue a distinctive character. It offers beautiful scenery without sacrificing modern amenities.
One of the things I love most about Ashery Lane Farm is that it captures the feeling of a private countryside retreat while still being easily accessible from Minneapolis. It’s a venue that feels thoughtfully designed rather than adapted, which comes through in both the guest experience and the photography.

Redeemed Farm combines historic character with beautiful natural surroundings. Set on 40 private acres in the St. Croix Valley, Redeemed Farm feels more like a destination wedding venue than a traditional Minnesota farm.
It boasts white architecture, manicured grounds, vineyard views, and thoughtfully designed event spaces. It offers a completely different experience from the rustic barn venues many couples picture when they think of a countryside wedding.
Ceremonies can take place on the Vineyard Lawn, where rows of vines frame a stone arch and garden-inspired setting. For indoor celebrations, you can choose from The Stable or The Loft.
The Stable offers an all-white chapel-inspired space with high ceilings and dramatic architecture. The Loft provides a restored 1930s setting complete with cathedral ceilings and a grand staircase. Receptions take place in the Historic Dinner Space, a warm, winery-inspired room that feels welcoming despite its generous size.
The property accommodates up to 175 guests and includes private getting-ready spaces, and a vineyard pavilion anchored by a 30-foot stone fireplace. There are countless locations for portraits throughout the estate.

Located less than an hour west of Minneapolis, The Cottage Farmhouse has earned a reputation as one of Minnesota’s hidden gems. This venue is ideal for couples who want a beautiful wedding venue without an overwhelming price tag.
With more than 300 weddings and 60,000 guests hosted on the property, this unique wedding reception venue in Minneapolis has built its experience around helping couples create a memorable celebration while staying mindful of their budget.
What makes this venue stand out is its white and neutral interiors, reclaimed architectural elements, custom-built harvest tables, and abundant natural light. This location works with everything from colorful garden-inspired weddings to modern celebrations.
One of the most notable features of the property is the historic white dairy barn. Originally built in the early 1900s, the barn features 30-foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers that create a space that feels elegant and welcoming.
Couples also have access to a dedicated bridal cottage filled with natural light, creating a comfortable place to get ready while providing beautiful opportunities for photographs throughout the morning.
The venue can accommodate up to 250 guests for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions, and couples enjoy exclusive use of the property on their wedding day.

While technically located just outside Minnesota, Belle Ame Vineyard, it’s a popular choice for Twin Cities couples looking for a venue that feels completely different from the typical Midwest wedding experience.
Set in the rolling hills of Wisconsin wine country, the property combines vineyard views, modern event spaces. It provide a full-service wedding experience that allows couples to host their entire celebration in one location.
The venue spans 13 acres and offers more than 5,000 square feet of indoor event space, along with a covered pavilion overlooking the vineyard and outdoor patio. Whether couples envision an outdoor ceremony surrounded by vines or an indoor celebration in the Grand Hall, the property offers multiple ways to take advantage of the landscape.
One of the things that sets Belle Âme apart is how much of the wedding experience is handled in-house. Couples also have access to private getting-ready suites, on-site coordination, award-winning wines, and dedicated event staff throughout the day.
Belle Âme has been recognized by both The Knot and regional wedding publications, earning The Knot Best of Weddings 2025 award and finalist recognition from Minnesota Bride and Wisconsin Bride.
