Documenting your family during

the most sacred season

book your session

Parenthood is called a lot of things. But to you, right now, it means steep learning curves, rollercoasters of raw emotions and renewed sense of wonder. You’re in the most sacred season of your lives, with probably the most intense joy (and exhaustion) you’ve ever experienced. It's an honor to capture these moments of togetherness for you to treasure for years to come.

ready to tell your story?

In the midst of an often chaotic and exhausting season of life, your newborn session is time aside to simply be together, soak in the snuggles, kisses, the hard to come by unhurried moments. My style is simple & natural, no complex baby poses or perfect studio light needed. The organic feeling of simply being together is magic enough! I do guide and coach you every step of the way, so you don't need to worry about wondering where to take photos or how to hold baby. If I'm not saying anything, it's because I love what you're doing already! Your newborn session will include naturally posed photos of just baby, candid moments with parents, siblings and fur babies, and of course some classic posed, smiling photos for baby announcements and to hang on your walls!

Natalie was fantastic to work with! She was very communicative leading up to the day and helped prepare us for the session. She is very comfortable with newborns and knows how to calm them and also understands their limits. This put me at ease as a mom and made our pictures turn out amazing. She was great at guiding us to get the perfect shot while also capturing the natural occurring moments. If you go with Natalie you are going to get a very flexible, gracious, fun experience and incredible photos!"

WHERE DO I BEGIN?? Natalie made working with a 4 and 2 year old a breeze during our newborn session! She took her time, was patient, fun, joyful, oh I could go on! I cannot express enough how wonderful it was to have Natalie in our home. Truly for all of my pregnancy I looked forward to this photo session and she came through a billion times over!

It was such a joy to work with Natalie for our newborn photos! She perfectly captured our family and made us feel at ease through all the chaos that a newborn (and high energy pup!) can bring during a photography session. We highly recommend Natalie and look forward to working with her again in the future!

"We highly recommend Natalie!"

kind words from past clients

I highly recommend planning clothing options for your family before baby is born,  as after they have made their appearance, shopping or coordinating outfits can be a bit of a challenge. My personal favorites are simple and neutral colors and tones; textures such as knits and linen always look great too. Whites, creams, greys, blushes and other light tones that complement baby's skin are a great option. These simple tones put the focus on the connection and emotion, and give a timeless look. Small patterns for girls or moms look beautiful in photos. Dresses or loose tops are often most comfortable for mamas in the weeks following birth.

We will spend the majority of our time in the rooms in your home with the most natural light. The best light for photos is indirect, yet full. If you are concerned about the light in your home or just don't want to worry about having your home ready for photos, having your newborn session in a local studio is a wonderful option as well!

Having plenty of indirect, natural light in your home is key for achieving images that match my style and work that you see above. If you are concerned about the about of light in your home, or simply prefer not to worry about picking up for photos during the newborn haze,  I have a few studios around the Twin Cities that I can share with you for an additional rental fee.

Our home is pretty dark. What should we do?

What should we wear?

I will bring a few wraps with me, but you are welcome to set aside a few outfits or wraps that you would like to incorporate! Neutrals are always best, to complement baby's skin tone + allow the focus to be on their features. It's up to you if you'd like any photos with baby just in a diaper! I tend to do most shots with baby in a simple onesie, so we can see their feet and hands, or loosely swaddled in a blanket.

What should baby wear?

q:

Yes! I know how important your fur babies are to your family. I love to capture some family photos including your pups as well. I will defer to you as to your comfort level with baby!

Can we include our dog in some photos?
