Rachel & Luke are just one of those couples you love to spend the day with! They are incredibly warm, welcoming, and Rachel could best be described as a walking ray of sunshine! When Rachel inquired with me about photographing their Emerald Ridge wedding day, she described her and Luke as just a couple of goofs, pretty laid back and enjoying the simple things! They wanted photos that captured the little moments throughout their day, with each other and their guests. Most of all, they wanted everyone to feel special and have a good time. Sign me up!
Their wedding day was a HOT August day in the beautiful rolling hills of Menonmonie, at the Legacy Barn at Emerald Ridge Weddings. Rachel’s bridesmaids stunned in their marigold dresses and whimsical wildflower bouquets while the guys rocked navy blue suits! Unsurprisingly their wedding party crew of friends was SO fun for photos.
Rachel and Luke’s emotional first look was a highlight of their day. They tearfully read letters to one another and shared their personal vows. Being present to capture moments like these are always such an honor for me! Their outdoor ceremony was at a beautiful overlook. The scenery made their sacred ceremony feel all the more special.
Immediately after the ceremony, guests returned to the reception barns and enjoyed a cocktail hour chalk full of games, live music by Rachel’s brother’s band, food and drink! The joy and happiness of the day was palpable! We knew storms were rolling in soon, so we ran out to capture some golden hour portraits of Rachel and Luke before the clouds rolled in – their “just married” smiles are my fave!! The rest of the night was filled with heartfelt speeches, first dances and perhaps one of the most epic parts of the reception was Rachel and her dad’s choreographed disco boogie father daughter dance! It was such a blast.
