Taylor and Emelia’s wedding day was a personal favorite of mine from this past summer. You just can’t compete with being on the shores of Lake Superior in August! We had bright blue skies and perfect temperatures on the morning of their August North Shore wedding day. Taylor & Emelia chose to get married at Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, and it was truly such a romantic, classic setting for their wedding.
Taylor and Emelia went on their first date just before COVID hit in early 2020. When they inquired about wedding photography with me last year, they shared how quarantining together really make their relationship grow quickly and deeply as they got to spend so much time together and face a lot of uncertainty with each other by their side. Their connection and adoration for each other was so evident from that first call. I didn’t feel like they had only been together a little over a year. More like a decade! On their wedding day, both Taylor and Emelia had planned ahead to make the other feel loved and special by sharing very thoughtful gifts the morning of their wedding day. Easily my favorite part of the day was being right on the shore of Lake Superior just adds an extra element of magic to a wedding day!
Their two furbabies, Arrow and Gertie, also joined us for some photos at their Glensheen Mansion wedding! If you know me at all, you know I am a very passionate dog mom, so it was so fun to meet their pups and get some photos of the four of them! This summer, Glensheen is undergoing some construction on the back of the mansion, so Taylor and Emelia had their emotional + heartfelt ceremony outdoors in the beautiful Glensheen gardens, overlooking the lake. Immediately following the ceremony, their guests headed to their tented reception and enjoyed custom cocktails named after Arrow and Gertie! We ended the night chasing the sunset on the water, and Lake Superior showed off with it’s cotton candy skies. Truly a perfect ending to a perfect day! Cheers to you two!
